ALENA: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar, a journal published by the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Makassar Islamic University. This journal aims to publish and disseminate research and study results in the field of education. This journal is published periodically twice a year, namely in January and July.
Changes in the number of publications in scientific journals are greatly influenced by factors such as developments in research fields, reader demand, and technological advances. In the initial volume of publication, journals usually only publish a few articles in one volume, focusing on in-depth and detailed articles. Over time, along with the growth of readers and the increasing diversity of topics, the number of articles in each volume has increased. Where in 2023 and 2024 each volume published 10 articles, and in 2025 the writing of each volume increased to 15 articles.
In addition to the number of articles published in each volume, there have also been changes in terms of language in writing articles or what is published. Initially, the journal used Indonesian and after several considerations, the journal used English.
Overall, changes in the number of publications and languages in scientific journals indicate an effort to reach a wider audience, while also reflecting developments in academia and research.
